A statement by
Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Prof. Ade Adefuye, Wednesday, said
the embassy had countered pressures from religious organisations and
politicians in Nigeria and United States for the designation because of the
government's twin-track approach of enforcement and dialogue. After which it
proscribed the Boko Haram sect.
The statement
said that the presence of occasional disturbances in three of Nigeria's 36
states, were not evidence of security lapse in the country, as Nigeria remains
a favourite destination for investors and tourists.
