Back in the days when we were kids, we used to play police and thief. Now these days the Nigerian police plays police and breast. Since when did pictures start lying? Beats me!
The Nigeria Police has dissociated itself from a picture
currently trending on the blogsphere, which showed a Senior Police Officer in
the act of fondling the boobs of an unknown lady.
The police authority
said the picture was deliberately fabricated with the aid of Adobe Photoshop
technology to mislead the online community, stressing that the officer had
nothing to do with the woman.
It said after much
interrogation with the officer, it arrived at the conclusion that the picture
was fake and should be disregarded.
“Other citizens of this country are encouraged
to pose for snapshots with our uniformed officers if they so desire, just as it
is done worldwide. What we discourage is public display of affection by our
uniformed officers,” it said in a statement.
The picture, which
appeared online earlier in the week, sparked controversy and wide condemnation
from many angry Nigerians who had described the act as a disgrace to the police
authority and a show of shame.
