Nigeria, a tale of bad roads.

The 5th of October, 2013, marked one of the most gruesome and excruciating journeys i have ever made on Nigerian roads. I was travelling from Lagos to Benin, and when the driver got to a certain junction in Ijebu, he stopped and told us, the passengers, that he would have to take a detour so as to avoid the vehicular stand-still being experienced on the express. The detour was supposed to be through Lopo Korede to a place called J4, where the bus would rejoin the express road at Ore.
The journey through Lopo Korede and other adjoining towns proved to be as worse. A journey of say an hour took five to six long hours to make. This journey through the villages saw passengers scrambling for the nearest provision stores they could find and basking in the shades too.
We, that most times travel by road are made to go through this hell, while our Government does nothing about our roads, but rather fly. See below, pictures of the "adventure". Enjoy!
